All the iconic 80s nostalgia — zero prom obligations
POO LIVE CREW – 80s PROM
📍 Ridglea Theatre
We don’t bring just any idea to the Ridglea Theatre. We save our big swings for this room and this one is no exception.
Poo Live Crew is unleashing a full-throttle theme show: 80s PROM!
This isn’t a costume party, it’s a cinematic flashback. The scenes, songs, and slow-burn chaos that defined 1980s prom movies come roaring back to life. Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, and The Breakfast Club, Napoleon Dynamite collide in nostalgia.
🎶 Opening the Night-Brad Thompson Band
These are first-class Fort Worth musicians bringing serious energy, serious chops, and a deep bench of songs tailor-made for an 80s Prom night. Big vocals. Locked-in rhythm. Zero filler. Fort Worth Powerhouse!
You have questions? We have Answers!
Do you need a date? No. Do you need to dress up? Absolutely not. But if you want to rock the tux, the dress, the teased hair, or the neon — we’re here for it.
Come relive the prom you loved… or the one you wish you had.

Harmony Hall by Vampire Weekend from their 2019 album, Father Of The Bride. I always thought they were a fascinating band and this song is especially great. We had some help from the amazing Clay Willis on guitar, guest vocalists Alaina Gunter and Christa Russell and special guest cameos from my friends Charles Gaby and Katsuk.
Special thanks to Greg Luce for helping me shoot this video!
Hey y’all, it’s time for my annual birthday fundraiser for Camp CARE, a nonprofit children’s oncology camp very dear to me and many others.
Can you believe that for 19 years I’ve been flying out to Lake Lure, NC every summer to play for Camp CARE?? 19 years!! I was in my 30’s when I started, my kids were in elementary school, I still had brown hair (and a soul patch – ugh!) and I didn’t even wear glasses yet.
For 19 years I’ve been asking for donations too. If you are fortunate enough to be able to give anything right now I want to tell you this is an organization that could use the funds and can do the most amazing things with it.
They provide a week of camp totally for free for families that are some of the most deserving you’ll ever see. Not only are they facing the diagnosis and treatment for their child with cancer, most of them are experiencing financial uncertainty or ruin because of overwhelming medical expenses and specialized care. Often times they’ve lost their home and life savings, and are working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet.
This camp is highly specialized for these kids too. We’ve got oncology doctors, nurses and therapists staying with us all week ensuring that these kids are completely safe and are able to join in all the camp activities they want to – water skiing, zip line, climbing wall, all the cool stuff!
One of my favorite memories was a group of us taking a teen-ager who was confined to a wheelchair out on a night zip lining trip. It was a ton of work getting this child harnessed in and safely ready to zip. But in the end watching her sail across the timber line of the Great Smoky Mountains in the moonlight was the thrill of a lifetime for all of us!
Full disclosure, while this camp is largely staffed by volunteers (most of them former campers), they have an extremely small staff that is actually paid, and I am also paid to be there – mostly to cover my travel costs, airfare and the 10 days I have to take off of my usual work/performances to be there.
I know a lot of you have given just about every year that I’ve held my fundraiser and I love you so much. It means the world to me. And to know that you would be this generous to a group of kids and families that you will most likely never meet really really blows me away and speaks to the depth of your hearts. That’s the part that absolutely gets me every time.
On behalf of the thousands of children, families, volunteers, doctors, therapists, and specialists that make up our Camp CARE family I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I promise to post lots of pics and videos from camp this August!
A deep cut from Pink Floyd’s 1971 album Meddle. I shot all my footage at 2X speed then slowed it back down to give the effect of slo-mo while still singing and playing in time – what a cool trick! I also tuned my guitars to an open G chord. Apparently that’s what Roger Waters did after Syd Barrett showed him. Sounds pretty good!
Big thanks to C Todd Kirk for recommending this song to us!

You got to spend a lonely long time You outta faith, well baby use mine It changes everything that we do
Driving into town today By the time I looked up thought I lost my way That’s when I noticed everything had changed for you
But we are, and we shine, and we sing, like we do But we are, and we shine, and we sing, like we do
Everybody, everybody, everybody let’s pray Get out on the streets today Trouble never go away unless we do
I know babe, I understand You and me we gotta have a plan Trust me, well maybe we do
But we are, and we shine, and we sing, like we do But we are, and we shine, and we sing, like we do
Hey we’re alive, roll steady like we do, Into the night, seeing all the things brand new Hey we’re alive, roll steady like we do, Into the night, see all the things brand new
La la la la la la La la la la la la
But we are, and we shine, and we sing, like we do But we are, and we still shine, and we sing, like we do
Hey we’re alive, roll steady like we do, Into the night, seeing all the things brand new Hey we’re alive, roll steady like we do, Into the night, see all the things brand new
La la la la la la La la la la la la La la la la la la
I’ve been a Van Halen fan since waaaay back! They were my very first concert ever. Saw them live back in ’84 at Reunion Arena in Dallas, TX. Still have the T-shirt!

One of my most favorite memories ever! The band and I were playing a wedding reception at a club in Deep Ellum (Dallas), TX for some friends of ours during a wicked ice storm. The weather took out the club’s sound system and the stage lighting, so what else were we to do but start an a cappella version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody with the audience!
